Founded in 2008 by former New England Patriot and cancer survivor Joe Andruzzi and his wife Jen, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation provides financial assistance to patients and families that helps them focus on recovery – not bills. After witnessing first-hand the stress that cancer can cause during his own battle with non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt’s lymphoma, Joe and wife made it their mission to build a foundation that believes laughter is the best medicine. Their work aims to help families forget cancer, even for just a minute – through fun, humor and good times. The Foundation also supports the C.J. Buckley Cancer Research Fund, which Joe and Jen founded in memory of a young friend who suffered from a brain tumor. They also strive to keep families positive through the Foundation’s (Up)Beat cancer initiative, organizing outings and visits with New England’s professional athletes for patients and their families.
Scargo Hill Managing Partner Tom Lynch remains inspired by the Andruzzi family and all that they have done for those suffering from a disease that affects far too many people around us. Tom works closely with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to raise awareness and funds to support the initiatives of the organization.
